The W3 or how it is known as the World Wide Web was invented by an English man named Sir Tim Berners Lee together with a Belgian computer scientist Robert Cailliau in 1990 while they worked in Switzerland for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Many consider the birthday of the WWW to be the 30th of April 1993, when CERN announced that the World Wide Web would be free to anyone, with no fees due.
