This year I will be teaching Form 1.03 to 1.06 and all Form 2 and Form 3 students.
ICT/New ECDL notes will be provided for free to students as an electronic download available in the Notes section of this website. Students will be given a password during the ICT lesson in order to access their relevant section.
If students wish to print these notes, they are free to do so – they can either print them at home, or place them on a removable storage device (USB pendrive, CD etc.) and print them at a printing shop which can sometimes work out cheaper. However, students will NOT be expected to bring these notes to school. As stated in the ‘School bags policy and procedures’ of the Education Division, letter circular DES/DQSE/05/2013:
– Teachers are to be asked to refrain from asking students to get thick packs of notes for class use – packs of notes are to be avoided. Module style notes can be used/adopted and students will have less weight to carry.
It is important for us teachers not to add unnecessary weight to students’ school bags – however it is also very important that parents spare a few minutes during the evening to help their child prepare their school bag according to the timetable for the following school day. By doing so you will be ensuring that they do not bring unnecessary items (books, files etc.) that they will not be using during that day, thus avoiding any superfluous weight.
